We've had a great week! Time just keeps going faster and faster!
So on Monday night we had dinner at The Chen's! They are awesome! Their son recently returned from his mission to Paris. It was great because the missionary that taught the Chen's 10 years ago was back visiting Boston with his wife and they were able to come to dinner as well. It was fun to talk to "Elder" Fowler and hear about his experience 10 years ago. But is was also neat to see how the gospel blesses families. Because of this elder, the Chen's are fully active and love the gospel. Their son served a mission and was able to bless the lives of many while he was in France. The gospel is so important. That's why we need to share it with others.... so they can experience these same blessings.
On Tuesday and Wednesday we were able to spend a lot of time in our area and do regular missionary work! It was so much fun! We had a lesson with a Recent Convert and we were able to talk to him about the priesthood and see how he is doing.
On Thursday we went to the coolest baptism ever. So the Spanish elders in our ward have been teaching Norma. She is amazing. We get to teach her on Sundays in the Gospel Essentials class. So guess where the baptism was held?! WALDEN POND! It was amazing. We all walked around to a more private part of the pond and were able to have a quick baptismal service. It was really special!
On Friday we had District Meeting. Sister Demuth and I gave the training on "our divine potential". President Miller came to our District Meeting, but everything went well! We focused on our patriarchal blessings. Nobody has a negative blessing! Heavenly Father truly wants us to experience all the blessings he has to offer. I encourage you to read Elder Hallstrom's talk, "I am a Child of God" from this last General Conference. We all have divine potential and we all are children of a loving Heavenly Father.
Friday we also found out about transfers! Sister Demuth and I will be staying together for another transfer! We will also be heading down to Connecticut to help out with the Temple Open house! I am going back to AVON! I am so excited! We will be moving in with members for about 5 weeks at the end of September. These next few weeks will be supah busy!
We had another busy day on Saturday! We went to a baptism in Ludlow for Ernie Roy. He is 89 years old! Goes to show that it's never to late to get baptized! And then we went to Worcester to help out the sisters there with street contacting (we brought our ipads). We met some really awesome people! We ran into one lady and she was SO excited to see us! She told us that she has lived in Worcester for 3 years and has waited for the missionaries! She is originally from Avon and is looking forward to the temple. And she has been to church in Franklin, Mass. before too! She is prepared! So the missionaries will be dropping by her house soon!
I think this week I really realized how true our church is. It just makes too much sense for it not to be true. We were talking with some people and they just sounded so confused, yet so set in their ways. It made me really sad that they aren't ready to accept the gospel. I am so thankful I have the knowledge of the restored gospel. It has blessed me so much in my life and has helped keep me on track. I am so happy to be a missionary. I love it!
I hope you all have a great week!
Love, Sister Egan
